2 Live Crew Returns

"We're getting our feet wet again. One of the key things that we wanted to make sure of is that we stay current with our lyrics and music," Chris says. "We are considered old-school. Songs like 'Me So Horny' and 'Fuck Martinez' are the past and we want to move forward. We can't go back to sounding like that."

Still, the group hasn't been completely in hiding. In the past couple of years, the duo has performed as 2 Live Crew (they own the rights to the name) at unlikely local venues such as Studio A and Churchill's. "We come out there and do our thing. We play all the old hits and prepare them for what's coming," Chris says.

"It's a different time right now, but for us it's the same thing, just a new day and a new generation in music," Mark adds. "The fans have been asking for a 2 Live album for years. It would be a blessing if it takes off and gets major."
